Educators for Excellence-New York Congratulates David Banks on his Appointment as Schools Chancellor

“As a New York City educator, I am beyond excited by the appointment of David Banks as the new Chancellor of our schools,” said Omar Soriano, a third grade teacher at PS 126 Dr Marjorie H Dunbar in the Bronx. “Mr. Banks’ experience as a school leader and champion for Black and Brown students in communities across our city is encouraging as he steps into his new role during this turbulent time. My hope is that Mr. Banks will seek out the expertise of educators as we continue to navigate the impacts of the pandemic on our schools and build coalitions with stakeholders who uplift teachers and students.”
