Voices from the Virtual Classroom

Virtual Event (LA)
, Los Angeles, CA

The school-system was broken before COVID-19, though its inequities are being highlighted and exacerbated during this time. Students and teachers across LAUSD deserve more. As an educator, you deserve to talk to decision-makers about the issues that are most impacting your students and your teaching. We have spoken with hundreds of teachers who have identified three key issues. 1. Figuring out distance learning and the implications of that on student learning, 2. Closing the digital divide and continuing learning by working with parents, and 3. Academic and Social-Emotional support and focus on Black students. They have decided to do something about these issues, and create the change that students need. So, on June 24 at least 100 LAUSD educators from schools across the district are coming together to make demands of decision-makers.
