Ben and Paula did great! They spoke out against eliminating reporting requirements that districts have for probationary teachers. Eliminating those requirements would be detrimental to data collected about teachers of color and how often they are laid off.
IN FACT– Ben and Paula were so convincing that Senator Wiger broke from his party and said that Paula and Ben had a really good point! And then the chair said that “[the bill author] needs to consult with Educators for Excellence before moving forward.” I’m pretty sure this is a first!
