E4E Hartford Diversity Summit

The Lyceum
227 Lawrence Street, Hartford, CT 06106

At the culmination of teacher appreciation month, we’re hosting a summit to talk about one of the most critical issues in education: educator diversity.
47% of students in CT are people of color, whereas less than 9% of our teachers are. This gap comes from many places and causes, and must be remedied. Both white and students of color benefit greatly from having even one teacher of color, and exponentially more from more than just one, yet many students rarely have that opportunity.
At this event, Hartford teachers will talk about why bridging this gap is so important as well as the work that E4E teachers have done to help. Come enjoy an evening of discussion of diversity over dinner and drinks.
