Educators for Excellence-Los Angeles Reacts to Announcement on Teacher Vaccination and Covid Testing

Educators for Excellence-Los Angeles (E4E-Los Angeles), a teacher-led organization, today reacted to Governor Newsom’s announcement that all teachers must have proof of vaccination or face regular testing.

“Families and their children should feel safe as they head back into classrooms and the Governor’s mandate is a key step in this process—particularly for students too young to be vaccinated,” said E4E-Los Angeles member Lyndsey Bonomolo, a special education teacher. “After nearly a year and a half of virtual learning, we know that having students in-person is needed both for their social-emotional health and academic progress. This step will also help protect their physical safety and give parents and students peace of mind as we start the new school year.”
