Educators for Excellence-Boston Announces Sarah Iddrissu as New Executive Director

November 18 (Boston) — Educators for Excellence-Boston (E4E-Boston), a teacher-led organization, is proud to announce that it has selected Sarah Iddrissu as its new Executive Director.

Iddrissu returns to Educators for Excellence with experience at multiple levels of the Massachusetts education landscape. Iddrissu is a former Massachusetts teacher and has worked on an array of issues in the Boston Public Schools system. Most recently, she managed school and district transformation on behalf of the Commissioner of Education at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Prior to her work with DESE, Iddrissu served as E4E-Boston’s founding Managing Director of External Affairs. 

“Equity-minded educators can be powerful agents for systemic transformation. I am excited to work alongside them and ensure that their voices are at every table where decisions about their careers and students are being made,” said Sarah Iddrissu, Executive Director of E4E-Boston. “As a first-generation college graduate and the daughter of an immigrant, single mother of three children, I saw how the individual advocacy of caring educators changed my life trajectory. Those voices must also be amplified to also shape our systems.”

As a member-led organization, it is a testament to our values and our work to have a former teacher leader take the helm of this chapter. Under Sarah’s leadership, E4E-Boston will continue to build a movement of Boston educators, united by our Declaration of Principles and Beliefs, to advocate for changes that will uplift the profession and improve outcomes for students.”
