2022 Black History Month Wrap Up – E4E-Boston

This month, a powerful group of Boston leaders and educators gathered to celebrate Black History Month at E4E-Boston’s “We Are Black History” event. Throughout the celebration, speakers were asked to share stories of the Black educators who inspired and impacted them growing up.

These stories helped shine a light on the lack of educator diversity in schools in Massachusetts, especially in Boston Public Schools. 

E4E-Boston urges decision-makers on the district, city, state, and federal level to act now on diversifying our teacher workforce. Educators of color should no longer face the systemic barriers that have kept them from the profession, and real work must be done to retain the educators of color that we do have.
