Kelly Hughes Burton

Chief of Regional Impact & Strategy

Kelly is a non-profit executive who is passionate about educational equity. She most recently served as the Executive Director of City Year San Antonio (CYSA), where she was responsible for CYSA’s impact, sustainability, and scale. After a 12-year career with City Year, Kelly joined the Educators for Excellence (E4E) team in December 2021 as the national Chief of Staff and Impact. Kelly was drawn to E4E because of the organization’s approach of working from the inside out to help create true systems change and ensure that teachers have a leading voice in the policies that impact their students and their profession. Kelly has a bachelor’s degree in communication from Boston University. She is originally from New York and after spending the last eight years in Texas, she plans to return back to the northeast with her husband, two young daughters, and their dog, Bette Davis.
