Educators for Excellence-Massachusetts Names Andrew Epifanio State Director of Public Affairs
Epifanio, an education policy advocate with more than 12 years of experience in schools, research, and the State House, will lead E4E-Massachusetts
October 6, 2026 — Educators for Excellence (E4E) announced today that Andrew Epifanio will serve as the new State Director of Public Affairs for E4E-Massachusetts. Epifanio brings more than 12 years of experience across education programming, communications, and policy.
The son of two educators, he started his career with two years of national service in Washington, D.C., with City Year, coaching elementary, middle, and high school students in Title I schools, and later training and coaching AmeriCorps members at City Year Los Angeles. He went on to advise students on public service careers at Stanford University, support research on the well-being of early childhood educators at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and serve as a policy analyst for the Massachusetts Legislature’s Joint Committee on Education. Most recently, he worked at Education Reform Now Advocacy, encouraging candidates and elected officials to adopt evidence-based education policies.
“Andrew has spent his career on both sides of education policy. He’s been in schools alongside students, and he’s been at the State House where the decisions get made,” said Evan Stone, Co-Founder and CEO of E4E. “That combination is exactly what Massachusetts educators need in their corner right now. I’m thrilled to see him take the helm of E4E-Massachusetts.”
Epifanio steps into the role, as E4E-Massachusetts educators, in partnership with members of the Mass Reads Coalition, recently secured the unanimous passage of the Right to Read Act.
“I’m ecstatic to join at a moment where E4E educators, Members of the Mass Reads Coalition, Senator DiDomenico, and Representatives Cataldo and Sena, just helped ensure every child has access to the high-quality materials they need to learn to read,” said Epifanio. “94% of teachers nationwide believe educators should use high-quality, evidence-based curricula, so this step is a response to what teachers want. Now, this school year, we must ensure educators have the time and support to bring these materials to life. Massachusetts can be a lighthouse on the hill for the rest of the country, and I want educators leading us there.”
