Marissa Alberty began her career as a Pre-K teacher in her home state of Oklahoma, and went on to teach middle school in Washington, D.C. Her experiences with her students and their families and communities were the catalyst for more than a decade of work in education and public service.
Marissa is a seasoned Chief of Staff with experience in both the nonprofit and government sectors—including leadership in the U.S. Department of Education. She is an accomplished education advocate, known for driving policy change and building high-impact coalitions. Her work includes efforts like modernizing Delaware’s education funding formula and supporting the launch of Southerners for Fair School Funding at EdTrust.
A nationally recognized expert in family and community engagement, Marissa has served as a course instructor at Harvard Graduate School of Education, consulted for leading education organizations, and contributed to work cited by the U.S. Department of Education. She is excited to bring her experience in coalition-building, organizational strategy, and leadership development to E4E.
