Jared Cain

Jared joined E4E with over 15 years of experience working within political, issue advocacy, and nonprofit organizations, leading external affairs, marketing/communications, and public affairs teams specializing in executing innovative digital programs. 

A native of greater Boston and graduate of Suffolk University, Jared launched his career as Communications Director for MA State Senator Richard T. Moore, the chief architect of Massachusetts’ landmark healthcare reform laws. After obtaining a Masters Degree in Environmental Law and Policy (MELP) from Vermont Law School in 2011, Jared went on to work in Charlotte, NC as Digital Communications Lead for the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), a pre-eminent research and development nonprofit for the utility industry. 

Owing his life’s journeys to many of his quality public school teachers, Jared committed himself to equitable education advocacy in 2014, moving to California and joining New Teacher Center, where he led the organization’s rebrand and marketing strategy. 

In 2016, Jared went on to join the California Charter Schools Association (CCSA), serving in a variety of leadership positions, including Vice President, Communications and Vice President, Digital Strategy. While at CCSA, Jared led the organization’s rebrand and development and execution of an ambitious enterprise digital strategy that helped drive key legislative and electoral wins through the organization’s 501c4 and affiliated PACs, as well as reimagining members’ experience through an innovative online Member Portal. 

Immediately prior to joining E4E as Vice President of External Affairs in 2023, Jared served as Digital Director for the public affairs technology company Unearth Campaigns, where he was the strategic lead for a variety of clients, including the coalition behind California’s historic Prop 28 campaign for arts and music education funding.

Though always a New Englander at heart, Jared lives in San Diego where he enjoys the outdoors, live music, and tacos with his long-term partner Mia and their two cats, Ringo and Frankie.
