Coming from a family of educators, Dan understood the value of a quality education from day one. Born and raised in Mankato, Minnesota, he is a product of an excellent public school system. While studying geography and urban studies at the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities, he started to see and understand the inequities facing cities – education being one of the most prevalent. After graduating from college, he knew he wanted to work for a cause that elevated the voice and impact of underrepresented groups of people.
Prior to joining E4E, Dan worked at Transportation Alternatives – a nonprofit that advocates for safer bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure in New York City – where he oversaw the membership program of 8,000+ supporters. He has always enjoyed the relationship-building aspects of his career, and is eager to bring his development skills to the table and advance E4E’s mission in a meaningful way.
