Andrew Epifanio

Andrew joined E4E in August 2026 with over 12 years of experience in education programming, communications, and policy. Over that time, his experiences crystallized a vital truth: In order to create an education system in which each child can realize their potential, every child must have a high-quality educator that they trust in front of them.

As the son of two educators and a transplant between vastly different K-12 public school systems, Andrew had firsthand experience of differences in educational quality at a young age. After college, he completed two years of civilian national service in Washington, D.C. with City Year. As a student success coach working directly with elementary, middle, and high school students across and beyond the school day in Title I schools, Andrew experienced the daily failures of the system, particularly for economically disadvantaged students and students of color.

After his service years with City Year Washington, D.C., Andrew worked on staff at City Year Los Angeles, coaching and training AmeriCorps members in leadership and career development. Driven to help more young people enter public service, he became a public service career advisor at Stanford University and helped advance a university-wide initiative to make public service an essential part of the Stanford experience. Following the pandemic, Andrew felt the call back to systems-level change and returned to the K-12 education space to help advance reform efforts.

After his graduate studies, Andrew worked at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, conducting research to support the well-being of early childhood educators. He then joined the Massachusetts Legislature as a policy analyst for the Joint Committee on Education. Following his time at the legislature, Andrew joined Education Reform Now Advocacy to advance the awareness and adoption of evidence-based policies by political candidates and elected officials.

Throughout his career, Andrew’s north star has been, “How do we ensure that every child has the resources and opportunities they need to realize their potential?” He is committed to helping build an education system that answers that question and makes Massachusetts a “lighthouse on the hill” to guide other states on their paths.

Andrew holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and psychology from Stetson University and a master’s degree in education policy and analysis from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He is an avid storyteller, coach, moviegoer, and music enthusiast. Andrew is grateful to call Greater Boston home.
