Paula L White Announced as New Executive Director of Educators For Excellence-New York

November 14 (New York)  — Educators for Excellence-New York (E4E-New York), a teacher-led organization, announces the hiring of Paula L White as the organization’s new Executive Director.

Paula’s 20 years of education leadership experience span from teaching fifth grade in Atlanta, to assisting New York principals in creating instructionally rigorous, trauma-informed environments, to leading crucial school turnaround work for the New Jersey Department of Education and advocating for teacher diversity in New Jersey. At every point in her career, Paula has advocated to position educators as the key drivers of change for improving the education students receive.

“As a teacher, school leader and policymaker, I have seen the power of educators when they join together and demand better outcomes for their students,” said Paula L White, Executive Director of Educators for Excellence-New York. “Educators confront the challenge of educational inequity each day they enter the classroom. It is critical that our leaders listen and learn from what they have to say. That is why I am proud to join an organization like Educators for Excellence, which is working so hard to ensure the voices from our schools are heard in their union, City Hall and Albany. I look forward to supporting New York City educators as they advocate for the changes that will enable them and their students to thrive in our schools.”

“Paula brings to Educators for Excellence-New York the invaluable experience of a teacher, a school leader, a policymaker and an advocate,” said Evan Stone, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Educators for Excellence. “In this role, Paula will support more than 14,000 E4E-New York members to organize and engage on the issues that matter most to them and their students. Whether it be advancing school desegregation efforts, strengthening teacher preparation programs or improving school discipline policies, our members are demanding change. We’re delighted that Paula has joined our team so that we can expand and deepen our members’ impact.”
