Educators are the experts we need to turn to when it comes to finding solutions to the problems facing their profession and their students. At Educators for Excellence – Minnesota, teachers from across the state have weighed in and crafted policy solutions that our students need now. These solutions are aimed at tackling two pandemics: COVID-19 and the long-enduring structural racism of Minnesota’s school system.
In response to Minnesota’s shortage of teachers and deep educational inequities along lines of race, tell MN state lawmakers to prioritize:
- Protecting and expanding accessible pathways to teacher licensure
- Equitable school funding
- Increasing teacher diversity
