Ryan Mulso National Associate of Training

A product of and teacher in St. Paul Schools, Ryan knew early on that he wanted to be in education. He saw education as a path to easily influence and change the world and teachers being the most impactful piece in that process. He received his bachelor’s in social studies education from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Ryan taught for five years in a variety of areas and subjects. He taught English in South Korea, social studies in Minneapolis and AVID (Advancement Via Individual Development) in St. Paul. During his time as a classroom teacher, he saw the value of educator voice in making good schools into great schools. Working in a variety of settings and subjects also highlighted the opportunity that schools were missing with traditionally underserved students.

Ryan joined Educators for Excellence as a member and experienced the empowerment that many of those involved in E4E share. He experienced the power of a community of educators asking local leaders to make changes. Over the past few years, he has seen lasting impact in state law, district policies and contract provisions because educators ask for it. He loves seeing the passion, drive and focus of E4E members and how that translates into change for students.

"I work to see lasting change in the world."
