Iryna Poberezhniuk National Associate of Data, Systems and Technology

Born and raised in a family of teachers in Odessa, Ukraine, Iryna quickly developed a passion for education both inside and out of the classroom. Soon after she earned her master's degree in English language and literature from Odessa National University, she embarked on her first big journey and traveled the world as a cruise ship photographer and educated herself about world cultures. Having spent nearly four years living on ships and visiting dozens of countries, Iryna came back to Odessa, Ukraine where she began her teaching career.

During this time, Iryna worked at private and public schools where she developed a strong rapport with her students of all ages and levels. She taught English and Russian as a second language to a range of students from first-graders to business owners.

In 2014, Iryna relocated to New York, where she became involved with various nonprofit organizations and eventually educated herself in data management and technology. She is happy to be a part of the Educators for Excellence team, where she can combine her two biggest passions: technology and education.

“Future is both female and education available to everyone.”
