Darren was born in Oakland, CA, raised in Colorado Springs, CO, and hails from Dallas, TX. He studied Theater Studies at Southern Methodist University and received his A.A. in Applied Arts from KD College: Conservatory for Film and Dramatic Arts in Dallas, TX.
Darren's passion for organizing people began as a Corps Member in AmeriCorps NCCC in 2011. Since then, he has led field teams for national, statewide, and municipal races across the US. Darren is a recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award and Congressional Award and is dedicated to helping people realize their collective power through organizing and building up volunteers who will one day become leaders in their community.
Darren joined E4E because having been a product of a good public school education, he understands the impact that a quality school district and caring teachers can have on one’s life. Any skills he can lend which will lead to better outcomes for students is something he is thrilled to be working on.
