A native of Florida and product of Duval County public schools, Ciara discovered her passion while advocating for health reform and education equity, and later teaching life skills and science to elementary school students.
As a tutor and mentor for youth in after school programs and nonprofit organizations, Ciara decided to complete a master’s in public administration with a concentration in education policy from Nova Southeastern University. Ciara also completed an AmeriCorps program in which she worked with students with intellectual disabilities, teaching health education and mobilizing the community to advocate for universally high-quality public schools for all children.
Ciara works as an senior outreach director, focused on her passion for education equity as a diversity and inclusion (D&I) specialist. With her D&I work, she plays a dynamic role facilitating and leading the New York office in exploring a variety of topics, as well as assisting and coaching others outreach directors on integrating D&I in their work in the field.
